The vision of Mark St. John Carson, formed in 1988. Persuasion started as nine guys who were all friends of Marks after he requested they join the group. After performing several concerts together most of the group members began to transition out leaving just three guys.

It was at this time Sonya Brown (Hampton), joined the group in 1990. Following Sonya’s connection, after a few months the late Bridgette Wilson joined the group. Both traveling with the group for a couple years, Bridgette resigned and Jeannette Williams and Frank Goodwin came on board.

Today years later, Mark Carson, William Cooke, Leroy Brown, Sonya Brown, and Jeannette Williams recently celebrated a 25-year reunion. Along with June Cannon, as an honorary member of the group, they still remain close today.

Contemporary harmonies, and a mixture of musical styles, Persuasion has a sound of their own and is preparing to release the Double CD of recordings of over 25 years of material including the brand new single, “More In Love With You”.

Persuasion has shared the stage with Fred Hammond and Commissioned, Yolanda Adams, Michael English, John P. Kee and many other nationally known recording artists.
